Miniature and large LRAD weapons used by U.S. army, businesses and cults
by wanda ini mentioned this in another forum then realized it would also fit here, so i edited it a little and here it is again.
a ministerial servants' head told me confidentially he and some friends had harrassed an oklahoma city sister who partook of the emblems by using miniaturized sound and voice making devices.
in some congregations the elder body and their closest pioneer sisters also don't like jws and ex-jws they think are big-mouths because they are afraid they will tell about things like child molesting.

Anybody here who still has faith in God and belief in the Bible?
by Sheepish inthere seems to be a lot of folks here who are bitter and want nothing to do with organized religion (understandable!
) or the belief in a god who cares about us, and has a "plan".or even anyone who has actually read and studied the bible, and understands what's going on it it.
so many just take stuff out of context looking for "mistakes" and loopholes.

Sorry sheepish but you are comparing your "absolute truth" to a "natural law". Gravity does work. However it is not an absolute I will fall. There are many variables involved. It is relative. You would like to believe your moral absolute truth is comparable it is not.
Absolute Truth : “Something true for all people, at all times and in all places”.
Absolute truths are based on facts, not just through general consensus of a group. Consensus is usually formed by personal opinions and not based on facts.
Philosophers have argued about absolute truths forever. So instead of getting bogged down in how does absolute truth exist or not exist, let me ask "How does your belief in god constitute an absolute truth"?

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE HUMAN RACE?!
by Mary ini watched dr. phil yesterday, where they were highlighting the disappearance of natalee holloway who disappeared in aruba over 5 months ago, and amy bradley who vanished from a cruise ship 7 years ago.
i always assumed that these girls were raped and then murdered and they very likely could be, but the program highlighted the sex-slave trade that is growing in leaps and bounds all over the world.
i sat there and listened in shock as one guy revealed what happens to some of these girls during snuff movies.

Lukewarm Christians and the Leap of Faith
by Shining One inthe upper story leap .
by gregory koukl .
what's at heart here is not so much science and facts, but a philosophy of doing science which says that you can only talk about things which are scientific and you must remove any reference to a supernatural force whatsoever.i want to talk to you about what's happening in the vista school district.

Here's a radical answer: Teach science in science class. Teach creation and religion at church. Nuff said.

When elders realize they lost their power over you
by unbeliever inafter reading jgnat's post i got to thinking about something that happened to me.
i was never baptized so the elders were limited on what they could do to me.
still they were able to make my life miserable through my mother so sometimes i towed the line.

Enigma One
So you accused the elder of impropriety? What specifically were you accusing him of? (If I may ask.)

Where did God go??
by fairchild init has been over 10 months now since i stopped going to the kingdom hall.
i had imagined how i would really find my way to god now that i was no longer being misled by the wts ( for - profit) publishing company.
i kept reading the bible, because people on jwd had told me how i would see it in a different light.

So actual hard science is "out there". Yet belief in an invisible Sky Papa, reincarnation, or heaven and hell where there isn't a single shred of proof isn't "out there"? LOLCall me crazy but I enjoy reading stuff like this. It helps me to continue to grow and mature in my spirituality. Maybe that's just me.

Perhaps it was because you simply lacked the "god gene".
Religious belief is determined by a person's genetic make-up according to a study by researchers.
After comparing more than 2,000 DNA samples, an American molecular geneticist has concluded that a person's capacity to believe in God is linked to brain chemicals.
Buddha, Mohammed and Jesus all shared a series of mystical experiences or alterations in consciousness and thus probably carried the gene, according to the researchers. This means that the tendency to be spiritual is part of genetic make-up. This is not a thing that is strictly handed down from parents to children. It could skip a generation - it's like intelligence or lack thereof. LOL
There is a book entitled: The God Gene: How Faith Is Hard-Wired Into Our Genes that delves into this. I have not read the book, but have read some of the findings in abbreviated articles.
